About Olivia House

Olivia’s journey to be a family law attorney began before she was even born. As a child of surrogacy, legal minds were already sorting through the details of her existence before anyone knew she too would become an attorney helping families. She now has a wonderful, blended family and is grateful to the attorneys who made it all happen.

Olivia grew up in Fayetteville, Arkansas and her childhood was filled with travel all over the world. It was this exposure that led her to pursue her bachelor’s degree at the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, where she concentrated on international politics, law, and human rights. Upon graduating, Olivia spent time working in Washington, DC at an international human rights agency, advocating for global anti- human trafficking efforts, and as an AmeriCorps Teaching Fellow, teaching 9 th grade algebra in an underserved DC community. The relationships Olivia built with survivors of human rights abuses, as well as her students who were often experiencing violence at home, led her to pursue a law degree at the University of North Carolina School of Law at Chapel Hill.

Olivia is passionate about connecting with clients on a human level, learning about their unique stories, and walking with them through an often-challenging time in their life. Having worked for Safe Alliance in Charlotte, the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and in juvenile court, she has valuable experience working with survivors of domestic violence and families facing hardship. Olivia has litigated a range of family law matters including child custody, child support, divorce, and equitable distribution cases. She also has a background in real estate and business, which she applies towards civil and business law matters. Olivia enjoys this meaningful work and understands that each case requires its own balance of compassion and diligence.

Outside of the office, Olivia enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, live music, playing tennis, line dancing, and reading a good book.
